Ocean Pines is a secluded residential community nestled on Maryland's Eastern Shore in Northern Worcester County. With over 9 miles of waterfront property and enough trees to shade the majority of the 3,000 acres, Ocean Pines is truly a jewel located only 5 miles from Ocean City and the Atlantic Ocean.
Today there are approximately 8,400 platted lots in the community, with about 7,800 homes built, 109 townhomes, and 197 condominium units. The community boasts four outdoor pools, one indoor pool, an 18-hole Robert Trent Jones, Sr. designed golf course, a yacht club, two marinas, Ocean City beach parking, a community hall, a tennis complex, soccer fields, baseball fields, basketball courts, several lakes, and numerous parks, playgrounds, walking trails, and a skate park.

rules.
· The golden RP rule, do not cross OOC and IC lines, this should be pretty self explanatory by now.
· Realism is the key here; please make sure to do your research if your storyline requires it. Approval is not needed by the mods for a dramatic storyline or pregnancy but a heads up would be nice.
· PB's must be of knowingly famous people. Those that are deemed 'original' or taken from MySpace, Facebook, etc are not considered to be knowingly famous. Relatives, unless they have a career themselves which launches them in the public eye, are not accepted either. A career is then defined as being an actor, musician, etc.
. Update limit is every three weeks. In that time, you must post a substantial journal entry or thread. Substantial meaning you have put thought into your update and you are not just having your character bumble on about the color red. Journal entries and threads help further character development which is what we are all about. To count as a complete thread, each player must have responded at least twice.
· A hiatus can be requested and will be granted only under the following conditions; a hiatus will not be shorter than one week or longer than four, and if a player is seen active on aim or their journal the mods will assume that the player is back and ready to be taken off hiatus. Please post a comment in the dropbox if you need to request a hiatus.
· Character journals must only contain names only, no numbers or underscores please. AIM screen names are not required but strongly encouraged. They must at least contain the character’s first, last or middle name. Also, currently at this time, the character limit per member is four.
· Within two days of being accepted, you must post an introduction in the main community . Failure to do so will result in removal.
· To join ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/community.gif) oceanpines , you must have a connection with another character in the community, or coming into the community. We feel this will be a way to keep players interested instead of jumping ship. To find connections, please utilize our storyline community, oplines to keep from flooding pbads .
· To get in contact with a mod, please leave a comment in the dropbox where all comments are screened. Please avoid PM’s as we can not guarantee we will get them. Also, feel free to contact the mod on AIM at OPinesMod.

The mods created oceanpines because we were tired of communities coming along, generating lots of buzz and then dying off days, or minutes later. We promise to be dedicated mods as long as we have dedicated writers. We want oceanpines to be a community that succeeds but we can not do it alone. Also, it must be stated that the mods agree not to reveal who they are or who they play.
